Brunei Urban Adventures is locally owned and operated by the husband and wife team - Ai Lee Tan, a Bruneian and Khirul Zainie from Miri, Sarawak, a neighbouring Malaysian state. We are proud to be part the Urban Adventure network and work together to put sustainable tourism into practice by working closely with the local community and encouraging the engagement of the local community in tourism business. We are looking forward to achieve the preservation of local culture and heritage as well as our natural environment.
The Brunei Urban Adventures Team has great passion for our homeland Brunei – the Abode of Peace, a land filled with unexpected treasures. Through our different Brunei tours, our team members are enthusiastic to share with you, the intrepid and independent travelers, the beauty and hidden magic of our beloved Brunei. From the sixth century history to the modern Brunei, a land of different ethnic cultural heritage, a land where the history of Borneo begins and a land dedicated to the Green Heart of Borneo project.
We hope you will be able to indulge yourself in the peaceful life on our land and get treated to the splendor of our natural environments – the tropical jungles and rare and amazing wildlife.
We take care to uphold our authentic local approach. Our present commitment in sustainable tourism includes training and engaging the local staff despite many challenges faces which many companies are reluctant to face; supporting local boat companies and local villagers by including their services in our daily sightseeing tours to the Water villages, working with the community to assist single mothers to be self-sustainable through tourism projects such as local home stay programs. We are also planning to develop a chain of unique MegaBorneo Nature Lodges at different locations in Brunei and Sarawak. One of the main objectives is to ensure that additional income is created for the local community where we develop these projects.
Every traveller knows that the most magical moments occur when you experience a unique connection with a local. Local people possess secrets about their country that no outsider could ever discover on their own. We know this from our own travels. When we began our company in 2001 it was this understanding that motivated us, and still inspires us to create the most unique experience for you combined with a complete and quality travel service, all within the philosophy of sustainable tourism practices.
