"Nasi Katok"

“Nasi Katok” used to be and still is a popular take away food among those who crave for a light supper at late night. “Nasi” in malay language means cooked rice and “katok” means knock.  It is just simple steamed rice served with either chicken or beef, a small piece of egg and sliced cucumber and hot spicy sambal (chili based condiment) packed in paper wrapper. In the earlier days, to get a pack of this Nasi Katok, you literally have to knock on someone’s door to buy a pack of it.
